Carol Settell Chappelle was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 33. She has since survived four recurrences, and her outlook on life is inspiring. Hear Carol’s full unbelievable story now.
I was born and raised in Lincoln and for the past 35 years have been married to one terrific man, Roger, who is also a cancer survivor. We have been blessed with three children: son Ryan; twins Beth and Greg, and now Greg’s wife, Kelli, a welcome addition to our family. I have worked at my family’s business Settell’s Printing (downtown Lincoln) since college years, and my brother and I are now third-generation owners (business was founded in 1949). After my third diagnosis, I felt the need to “do something” more…I guess being told you have cancer again does that to you, and started designing caps for cancer patients. It’s called Caps of Courage. This company is my passion and is working to help others feel good about themselves while going through treatment. I’ve learned that life is what you make of it, and helping others…well, I haven’t found anything that feels better than that.
